Well I came unto a valley
and I swept my eyes around,
all my thoughts seemed to surround me
and my mind no rest there found.

Moonlit shadows drifting slowly,
hung like demons dancing ‘round.
a heart so heavy and so lonely
was with chains and fetters bound.

Then I saw on the horizon
'neath a tree a thorny crown,
stretched upon its crossing branches
was a King of great renown.

Then a soft light shone upon me
when He cried out "It is done."
Above His head a sign read "Victory"
